Those were the words that I can remember my Mom saying to me when I told her that I was getting hot flashes at 10 years old. And today as a 50 year old woman who gets hot flashes on a regular basis I know NOW that my Mom was right. I clearly didn’t know what I was talking about.
Back then I was so green and inexperienced. I honestly didn’t know what I didn’t know. And just like when we were kids there are times in your life AND IN BUSINESS when you don’t know what you don’t know.
But what exactly does, You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know Mean?
It simply means that no one should assume that they know everything because that’s simply impossible. And the one thing that you’re missing from your success equation is probably the one thing that’s holding you back from your millions.
This is why it’s so important to attend events to learn about those things that we don’t know. Once you’ve learned something your mind has been stretched and once you’ve been stretched it’s very hard to go back to the place that you used to be. This is the reason why EDUCATION is SO PRICELESS.
I attend a lot of events. And trust me when I say that I attend them with a very different eye than most people. There are some events I attend where I know every single thing that the speaker is uttering. But I watch and learn how they work the room, sell their product, or promote their next event. All of it is a learning experience. From how they let people into the room, to how they allow people to leave. I make sure to get what I came for because one of the most dangerous phrases is the world is “I know that.” And it is those people that think they know everything who end up missing it all.
Sometimes in life you have to act like Alice In Wonderland and go on an adventure.
