Do you value your time? Do you really? If you value your time then how much is it worth? The truth of the matter is that the answer to this question could make a big difference in your life.
Over the years I’ve heard a lot of people talk about charging what you’re worth. But it’s easy to just throw that statement out there without breaking down what it truly means.
Here’s what I’ve discovered. I’ve learned that value has a lot to do with belief. And what people value is largely based on beliefs. Just like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, value is also in the eyes of the beholder.
Have you ever gone shopping with a group of women? You go into a store and you find a handbag and the price is $500.00. Now one woman believes a bag is just a simple accessory that has functional use. But the another woman believes that a bag is a statement piece and it makes an entire outfit. Who is right and who is wrong? Neither. Right.
But how does this work for you in business? It works like this: You will earn what you believe you should earn and you will charge what you believe you should charge and you will attract the sales you believe you will attract. Just know where you are with your own beliefs and understand that you will attract exactly what you believe.
Now while the previous paragraph was a mouthful, I promise you that if you think about it for a while, it will make total sense. If you change what you believe then you can change the entire course of your business. Period.
If you believe that what you deliver is valuable, then you will price it as such. So when someone says charge what you’re worth, what they’re really saying is charge what you believe your value is worth.
Know your worth. Value your worth. Believe in your worth. Believe in yourself. And charge your worth.
